Is there no such thing as bad publicity?

How inverse giving works

There’s been a lot of talk in the press this week about Suella Braverman’s comments on homelessness. If you’ve never heard of her, she’s the home secretary for the UK government.

You can read more about this in my blog link below. However, it raised an interesting point about ‘inverse giving’ in the charity sector.

This is when public criticism creates more support for a particular charity or cause rather than having a negative impact. I certainly hope this is the case because the UK is seeing a rise in street homelessness in the run-up to Christmas.

Maybe it’s something you could use the next time you work with a charity or non-profit.

Until next time.
